So glad we finally decided to try this place out! My boyfriend and I ordered the pad see ew and tom kha and they were so good. Also loved how the interior felt like I was in my hometown (not Thailand but close). Service was pretty good and dishes came out fast. We will definitely be coming back!
We are always looking for good Lao/Thai food. We were not disappointed at Isaan Station. The wait staff was helpful & the kitchen accommodating. Because of dietary restrictions, we were happy to hear that the dishes were made-to-order and that we could specify the level of spiciness. (Thank you!) We thoroughly enjoyed the food... even as leftovers the next day. About ten tables in the restaurant. CASH ONLY. (Zelle & Venmo possible) The parking lot fills up fast with a valet parking cars. There's also street parking in the neighborhood if you're willing to walk.
Isaan street has always caught my eye when I go grocery shopping at HK, but I finally had a chance to try it and it didn't disappoint! My friend had been here before and knew what I would like so she ordered for me. The papaya salad was nice and pungent with a lot of blue crab. It was exactly how I like it! We also ordered the hotpot which is something that I always crave. The broth is a bit tangy and fragrant. For two, the amount of veggies, meat and noodles were plentiful! It tastes exactly like how the hot pots in Thailand taste. I have my own Thai spot that I love, but when I'm craving a good papaya and hot pot, I will be back!
I had this place saved for a year and finally got a chance to try. It was recommended by a Thai person so I had high hopes. Food: we ordered the Green Curry with chicken, Pad See Ew with Beef, and Crying Tiger. Oh my goodness.... Everything is so good ! The crying is exceptionally good and the sauce pairs so well with it. The Pad See Ew is some of the best I have had. The beef is tender and marinated so well. Some places overcook their beef but not at Issan Station. Everything was so flavorful. We also order the Thai ice tea and the popular Palm Juice. You have gotta try the Palm juice ! It's so refreshing but it's on a sweeter side FYI. Service: Food came out the same time and the wait time was minimum since we were the only customers at the moment. I noticed a lot of take out orders. Our friendly server asked us quite a few times if we needed anything. No issues at all. NOTE THAT this place is cash only and they do have an ATM machine. Ambiance: The interior is cute and there's a Tuk Tuk inside for the gram. The parking lot is hella small and it's shared with a few businesses in the plaza. We were lucky to find one with 5 mins wait. Parking spots are tight but I think you could park in the neighborhood behind. I definitely would come back to try the other popular dishes !
We drive over one hour from OC just to eat at Isaan! It's our favorite Thai/Laos restaurant. The food here is amazing! The pork jerky is the best. The boat noodle is also very good, with lots of meat and the soup is so flavorful. Their blue crab (Laos style) is addicting. Everything we've ordered here is delicious and the prices are decent. Great customer service as well. Highly recommended!
I've been to Isaan Station many times but never had their beef boat noodle and I'm so glad I tried it Just as I had imagined, the broth was super rich and flavorful with a perfect blend of the 4S of flavor (sweet, sour, spicy, and savory) Also got their papaya salad with a choice of mild spiciness which was simply perfect and delicious And when I visit a Thai restaurant I usually get shrimp Pad Thai, and honestly some places skimp out on the sauce resulting in a bland taste, but Isaan Station made it perfectly right for my palate Parking is only valet but the parking lot is very small so most of the time it's hard to get in and out since there are so many cars all trying to get in and out at the same time
Super cute photo opportunity with a flower wall, neon sign, and a Thai tuk tuk. We ordered som tum puu (Thai papaya salad with crab), whole grilled fish, ground pork laarb (Thai salad), and Thai tea. Plenty of center parking spaces and spacious indoor seating options.
Really felt the authenticity of Thai street food here from the interior decor to paying cash only. We were seated right away and ordered almost immediately. Our table got: pork Jerky fried rice, crying Tiger, pad kee mao, and tom yum soup. Everything was a hit. The tom yum soup was nice and sour, the pad kee mao is one of the best ones I've had. The pork jerky fried rice and crying Tiger were a little too meaty for my personal preferences, but they are meat centered dishes so if you enjoy those flavors I'm sure you would enjoy the dish. Just a heads up if you're sensitive to that type of taste like I am. Everyone at my table enjoyed it, in fact the pork jerky fried rice was the first to be wiped clean. The prices are affordable as well, everything was delicious even the water, I will be back. Just once again, remember to bring cash and be prepared to look for parking. The parking lot is really tiny.
I loved this place. 5 of us around 2 pm and we were seated right away. It's cash only. Ambiance is very cozy and the price is reasonable too. Food was delicious. Even the water was good. Pork jerky fried rice was my favorite out of everything we ordered. The flavor was there, and the rice was perfectly cooked and seasoned. Pad Kee mao tofu was a table favorite. It's a classic and if you're unsure of what to get I would highly recommend. It was so yummy. Crying Tiger is charcoal grilled beef tenderloin and it was so flavorful. The sauce completed the meat and the meat was so tender as well. Tom yum soup with chicken was too sour for me but everyone else enjoyed it. I loved the amount of cilantro and chicken. Only negative is the parking sucks. There's like 10 parking spots for the entire complex. Nevertheless I would go back if I am in the area.
Omg they need to fix the AC up in here during this summer heatwave! I almost left, but reminded myself that I drove a distance and fought LA traffic to get here, for some good authentic Thai food... What kind of Thai of food? Isaan Station serves regional Thai food from the northeast part of Thailand. Isaan" food focuses grilled meats and seafood, meat and vegetables with the usage of exotic herbs, spices, and pungent sauces unique to that region of Thailand- not to mention the food is spicy! It's similar or exactly like Laotian cuisine. Isaan food are known to be intense due to the spiciness and fermented sauces; however, a tone down version can also be made. You either love it or hate it. Overall I think this restaurant was okay - I have my favorite spots, so maybe am bias. Flavors and quality of ingredients were on point just a bit too salty on some dishes I ordered. Service is so nice! A tad slow but I understand they probably were short handed. Parking is super tight with shared businesses. If you drive an SUV or Truck good luck; find street parking is my advice. Cash only!
